In an era where most magazines go through a lavish multi-month production cycle, the Longshot Magazine team (formerly 48 HR) made a spectacular 60-page magazine and online site in a weekend in May 2010 with little more than Twitter, coffee, grit and more than 1,500 submissions collected in just over a day.

Alexis Madrigal, Co-Founder, is also a senior editor and lead technology writer for TheAtlantic.com. A former staff writer for Wired.com, he's the author of the forthcoming history of clean energy in America, Inventing Green.
Mat Honan, Co-Founder is also a freelance writer based in San Francisco. He is also a contributing editor to WIRED magazine. In 2008, he created the "Barack Obama is Your New Bicycle" meme, the first of his many popular single-serving websites.
