NeighborWebSJ, a 2010 J-Lab New Voices grantee, recently revisted a city decision in 2008 to begin shutting down streetlights to close a $90 million budget gap. The program saves the city $77,000 a year and has raised the ire of neighbors. The website includes a Google Map that indicates which streetlights are out and provides information on how to report a burned-out streetlight to the city.
