How do I get into the Riggs Center?

Thanks to the distinguished alum who designed the building, there is NO ENTRANCE on the main road. To enter the center, you must walk down the brick steps on either side of the central rotunda. The main entrance is in the rotunda, facing the football stadium.

Directions from BWI to Quality Inn:

Exit the airport on I-195 WEST (4.4 miles).

Take Exit 4B to I-95 SOUTH toward Washington (20 miles).

Where I-95 and I-495 split, stay on I-495 (on the right).

After the split, get in the left hand lane and take US-1 (left exit) toward College Park.

Follow the signs to merge onto US-1 SOUTH.

At the end of the exit ramp, make a slight right onto US-1 SOUTH (Baltimore Ave.).

Take US-1 SOUTH for 2.7 miles.

The Quality Inn is at 7200 Baltimore Ave. (US-1), and will be on the right just after Applebee's.

Directions from Reagan National (DCA) to Quality Inn:

Exit the airport and get on George Washington Parkway North (0.8 miles).

Merge onto I-395 NORTH toward Washington (1.6 miles).

This will become I-295 (Southeast Freeway); stay on it (1.8 miles).

Take the Pennsylvania Avenue exit, make a slight right onto Pennsylvania Avenue SE and follow that for about half a mile.

Make a slight left onto Fairlawn Avenue SE, then quickly merge onto DC-295 NORTH.

You will be on DC-295 NORTH for almost four miles.

Take the MD-201 NORTH/Kenilworth Avenue exit (3.0 miles).

Make a left onto MD-410 WEST/East-West Highway (1.0 miles).

Turn right onto Baltimore Avenue/US-1 NORTH (0.9 miles).

Turn left onto Guilford Road, then make a quick right into the Quality Inn parking lot.

The Quality Inn is at 7200 Baltimore Ave.
